One of my most asked questions is, “Where do I go eat or stay in LA?”. Soo… I decided to put together a list of my favorite go-to spots on where to eat, hang out, and more. LA is HUGE so this is definitely 15% of what to do in this city:
Where to Eat
Norah - Such a great dinner spot! You HAVE to get their cornbread (I’m not even a cornbread kinda person, but this stuff is to die for).
Catch LA - Another great dinner spot and perfect place to get a cute photo for the gram. They are known for their “Hit Me Cake” which is a chocolate brownie cake that can be smashed open with a fork to liquid Klondike and ice cream. Yum!
Nobu / Sugarfish - The top sushi spots in LA, hands down. You definitely have to book your reservation in advance for Nobu, but the sushi is so worth it! Nobu Malibu is probably one of my most favorite locations (you might run into celebs here). If you are looking for something a little less expensive and do not have time to book a reservation, check out Sugarfish.
The Butcher’s Daughter - Such an eclectic little restaurant located on the adorable street, Abbot Kinney in Venice. This spot is known for its amazing vegan meals. I love to go here for brunch and Roberto loves to eat their Thai bowl for dinner. Make sure to head over to Salt & Straw Ice Cream afterwards (you’ll thank me later).
Cafe Gratitude - One of my favorite vegan lunch spots. Everything is plant based but it honestly doesn’t taste like it to me! I always leave this spot feeling better than when I arrived (it’s either the healthy juices or the sweet people that work there).
Tocaya - Honestly, this place should sponsor me. I tell EVERYONE to go here. This is my top rated place on my Postmates app haha. Can you tell I’m obsessed? It’s healthy Mexican food but is some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu but my personal fav will always be the Fajita Del Rey bowl. Oh. And get the Strawberry Basil Lemonade!
Perch - If you want dinner with a view and swanky music, this is the place to be. I randomly stumbled on this place when I first moved to LA and fell in love. It’s in downtown LA at the top of a really old building. It has an incredible view with food to match! You have to get the Steak Frites with the Truffle Cheese Fries… Omg I just made myself hungry thinking about it. What makes it even cuter is the live music performances every week.
Gracias Madre - Another great vegan Mexican spot but a little fancier for dinner. They have a great mezcal selection and their cauliflower is some of the best I’ve ever had.
Chateau Marmont - This historic hotel is known for a lot of celebrity sightings, even ghost ones. This classic spot is a must-have spot with amazing drinks and sushi. Make sure to make your reservation earlier.
Where to Stay
Airbnb - To be honest, I have only stayed at Airbnb’s around LA and I love it. It gave me the flexibility to be in and out as I please and of course make Odie (my dog) feel comfortable. I would recommend staying in Venice if you are interested in more of a beach scene or West Hollywood if you want to be around a lot of action/nightlife.
Beverly Hills Hotel - This is the famous hotel that you most likely have seen pop up on your Instagram feed. Known for their palm leaf wallpaper, bright pink walls, and amazing pool area. Even if you aren’t staying here, it is the perfect spot for tea and brunch.
Sixty Beverly Hills - I LOVE Sixty hotels. The one in Beverly Hills is charming and modern. The pool has an incredible view of LA too.
Ace Hotel (downtown) - If you are looking at staying downtown, Ace Hotel is the place to be! This historic spot is the ultimate cool-girl location with trendy corners in every room. They have an amazing rooftop bar and pool area that is worth checking out.
Where To Play
Venice Beach - If you like people watching, this is your heaven. Venice Beach is a crazy fun place to be on the weekend. There are great restaurants/bars, a famous skate park, people surfing, Muscle beach (where the top body builders and fitness feens flock), and Venice Canals (which are magical and a great photo spot!).
Abbot Kinney Blvd - An eclectic street full of cute shops and restaurants. I used to work on this street when I first moved to LA and I loved it. You can find the best clothes and treats here. Not to mention there are the perfect “Instagrammable” walls in all of LA here.
Hikes in Malibu, Hollywood Hike, Laguna Hikes - Whenever I have a friend from out of town visit, I make sure to take them on a hike. My favorite hikes are probably in Laguna and Malibu but you can’t go wrong with Runyon and the Hollywood Hills Hike. Pro tip: If you aren’t much of a fitness type, you can drive to this park in front of the Hollywood sign, just look up “ Lake Hollywood Park”. You’re welcome.
The Grove - Probably my favorite mall in all of America. This place has everything and makes me feel as if I’m 10 again. Also, if you are here around Christmastime you HAVE to come to the Grove.
Melrose Trading Post (on Sundays) - If you like thrift shopping or finding specialty goods, this is the place to be. Not only is it a fun place to shop on a Sunday but a great spot for street style inspo.
Santa Monica Pier - One of my favorite places to sight-see. When you go to the pier, make sure to have a ride on the ferris wheel or rollercoaster!
Disneyland / Universal - I honestly have not been to these amusement parks yet (Disneyworld girl because I’m a Floridian) but I am so eager to go. They both aren’t far from LA so they are definitely worth checking out.
Malibu Wines Safari - If you love some good vino or just want to spend your day petting giraffes with an incredible view of the ocean, put this place on your list. Make sure to sign up in advance for a Safari tour.
Attend a comedy club - One of my most memorable date nights was probably at a Comedy Store show with Roberto. Take advantage of being in LA and see some of the best comedians in the world at one of LA’s comedy clubs (Laughing Factory, Comedy Store, etc.).
Attend a TV show recording (Ellen, James Corden, etc.) - There are always shows being recorded and why not attend one in person?
Day trip to Laguna Beach - Laguna Beach is one of my favorite places in the world and I always leave feeling so happy! It’s a little surfer beach town with a twist and has the most amazing beach spots. (Transportation: train or bus if you didn’t rent a car)
Where to Play (nightlife edition)
The Bungalow - Located in Santa Monica. The best spot for day drinking I have some of my best memories there.
Speakeasies - No Vacancy, Adults Only, Good Times at Davey Waynes
Delilah, The Nice Guy - exclusive restaurants with a great lounge atmosphere
Warwick / Highlight Room / Tao - club atmosphere
Where to workout
SoulCycle - A fun cycle studio that is always a good time
Rise Nation - One of my favorite cardio classes. It’s 30-minutes and has indoor climbing machines
Venice Beach - The best spot for a run or join Muscle Beach
Sweat Garage - Another awesome cardio class that focuses on toning muscle.
Carrie’s Pilates - Energetic studio combining a Pilates, cardio & weight workout.

Have an amazing time in the City of Angels ;)
