Top 6 Places To Grab A Margarita in Charlotte

Top 6 Places To Grab A Margarita in Charlotte

August… The Sunday of summer. The month to enjoy your last days of the summer heat while sipping on something ice cold. Check out the top 6 places in Charlotte to get the best margaritas and tequila in town

1. Babalu

This new Charlotte hot spot in the lovely Dilworth neighborhood just opened this past July and has been poppin’ ever since. The drinks are excellent, especially their margaritas! I can personally vouch for their Strawberry Martinez----made with a strawberry-infused house tequila, fresh-squeezed sour mix, triple sec, agave nectar, and salt foam.  Definitely plan on getting there early, when prime dinnertime rolls around they are sure to be packed.

2. Bakersfield

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Charlotte, hands down! If you are not the biggest tequila fan, fear not, their signature sour mix used in margaritas excellently masks the taste. Their margarita pitchers are the perfect centerpiece for a chill night out with friends, accompanied by a great atmosphere. They also carry an impressive variety of tequilas and whiskeys for those feeling adventurous. P.S. Order the Pollo Rojo and Short Rib Tacos, they won’t disappoint!

3. Cantina 1511

You will leave this place full, happy, and tipsy. Besides their endless amazing entrees, they also boast an extensive range of 40 different types of tequila to choose from.

4. Paco’s Tacos & Tequila

The expression “everything is bigger and better in Texas” certainly applies to this Tex-Mex spot’s tequila selection.  The quality ingredients that go into their food----spices imported from a Texas-based company and daily-made tortillas----provide for an authentic experience along with great drinks. The best days to go are Tuesdays for $5 No Name Margaritas, or Saturdays for $9 Ace’s High Margaritas.

5. RuRu’s Tacos & Tequila

This new Mexican spot never disappoints. I was eager to try this place immediately for their Tres Amigos appetizer----chips served with queso, guacamole, and salsa (because who can pick just one).  However, I also fell in love with their margaritas and other cocktails. If you are looking to have a tequila-fueled night make sure to try their Tequila Flight, which includes .75 oz of each tequila.

6. 5Church

If you like things with a little kick definitely try this restaurant’s Viper cocktail! A concoction of Patron Silver, orange liqueur, lime juice, and cucumber makes for a perfect treat to spice up your weekend. The vibe in 5Church is unique and they definitely have one of the coolest atmospheres in Charlotte.
